NOTICE TO PUBLIC AND PRESS

The Granville County Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 6:00pm at the Granville County Expo Center, 4185 US-15, Oxford, NC 27565.

Members of the public are invited to view the open session via livestream. To join the livestream meeting, please use the following link: https://live.myvrspot.com/st?cid=MDhkZj.

Public comments for this meeting can be made in person at the Board Meeting, or in writing by using the following link: https://tinyurl.com/y37evl6z Comments made using the link must be submitted between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. A copy will be distributed to the Board of Education members. A maximum of 30 minutes in total will be allotted for public comment.

Metal Detectors will be in use upon entry to the building. No bags will be permitted in the building.

  • Monday – Basketball @ Franklinton MS 4:30pm

  • Tuesday –  Basketball v NGMS 4:30pm ; Wrestling @ Cedar Creek 4:30pm

Information:

  • Holidays Around the World –  Save the Date – Thursday, December 11th – 5:30-7:30

    • Save the date for our Winter Family Engagement Event - Holidays around the World – This event will be on Thursday, December the 11th from 5:30-7:30. This is partnered with our Winter Band Concert. The 6th grade students will perform from 5:30-6:00. The 7th grade band students will perform from 7:00-7:30. We will have student art work and contributions to all of our activities that will be throughout the Holidays Around the World Event in our building. 

    • Please be sure to RSVP by Tuesday in ParentSquare

    • We hope everyone will be in attendance! 

  • SWAG Store: LINKED HERE – Order your Granville Central Middle School Swag! The Panther Pack PTO will receive a percentage from the sales. The store will be open each month from the 1st of the month to the 15th of the month. The store will close and orders will take about 4 weeks to be completed from the time the store closes. Orders will be delivered to GCMS and given to the student when they arrive!

Eating and drinking on the bus are not allowed, and inappropriate language will not be tolerated. Please remember that any referrals may result in suspension from riding the bus. Good afternoon Panthers! This is Principal Shore calling with your weekly update. 

  • We will continue with our spirit month festivities this upcoming week with Dressing up like a snowman, Dress up like an elf, Buddy up with a friend, Grinch Day and Color Explosion! The calendar of events can be found in ParentSquare! 

  • Our Winter Family Engagement Event - Holidays around the World – is this week and will be on Thursday, December the 11th from 5:30-7:30. This event will be partnered with our Winter Band Concert. The 6th grade students will perform from 5:30-6:00. The 7th grade band students will perform from 7:00-7:30. We will have student art work and contributions to all of our activities that will be throughout the Holidays Around the World Event in our building. Please be sure to RSVP by Tuesday in ParentSquare. We hope everyone will be in attendance! 

  • Students will take their NC Check Ins for ELA on Wednesday and Math on Thursday.

  • For sports this week, Basketball will travel to Franklinton MS on Monday and will play at home vs Northern Granville on Tuesday. Games begin at 4:30. Admission is $7. Wrestling will travel to Cedar Creek for their first match on Tuesday and will have the Wrestling Rampage Rumble at Franklinton HS on Saturday 12/13.

  • As a reminder – We have a no bag policy in effect. This goes for ALL events at school including our Family Engagement Holidays Around the World event on Thursday as well as home sporting events. Thank you for your continued dedication in keeping our kids safe. 

  • We have 3 buses that will NOT run on Friday 12/13 in the afternoon only – Bus 253, Bus 254 and Bus 299.
