NOTICE TO PUBLIC AND PRESS

The Granville County Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 6:00pm at the Granville County Expo Center, 4185 US-15, Oxford, NC 27565.

Members of the public are invited to view the open session via livestream. To join the livestream meeting, please use the following link: https://live.myvrspot.com/st?cid=MDhkZj.

Public comments for this meeting can be made in person at the Board Meeting, or in writing by using the following link: https://tinyurl.com/y37evl6z Comments made using the link must be submitted between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. A copy will be distributed to the Board of Education members. A maximum of 30 minutes in total will be allotted for public comment.

Metal Detectors will be in use upon entry to the building. No bags will be permitted in the building.

Information:

  • Holidays Around the World –  Save the Date – Thursday, December 11th – 5:30-7:30

    • Families – Please save the date for our Winter Family Engagement Event - Holidays around the World – This event will be on Thursday, December the 11th from 5:30-7:30. This is partnered with our Winter Band Concert. The 6th grade students will perform from 5:30-6:00. The 7th grade band students will perform from 7:00-7:30. We will have student art work and contributions to all of our activities that will be throughout the Holidays Around the World Event in our building. We will be sharing an RSVP soon as well as more information regarding the event! We hope everyone will be in attendance! 

  • SWAG Store: LINKED HERE – Order your Granville Central Middle School Swag! The Panther Pack PTO will receive a percentage from the sales. The store will be open each month from the 1st of the month to the 15th of the month. The store will close and orders will take about 4 weeks to be completed from the time the store closes. Orders will be delivered to GCMS and given to the student when they arrive!

  • Winter Sport Tryouts – Monday, Wednesday and Thursday – All paperwork (Concussion form and up to date physical) must be completed in order to attend tryouts. 

    • Congratulations to those who made the Panther Basketball Teams!

    • The Granville Central Middle Wrestling Team is open to students in grades 6-8 with an up to date physical and concussion form. Anyone who did not make a basketball team, is welcome to join wrestling.

  • Bus Safety Reminder: Students must remain seated while the bus is moving and should not switch seats. Eating and drinking on the bus are not allowed, and inappropriate language will not be tolerated. Please remember that any referrals may result in suspension from riding the bus. Let’s all do our part to keep the bus safe and respectful for everyone.

Good afternoon Panthers! This is Principal Shore calling with your weekly update. 

  • As a reminder, we will have school on Monday and Tuesday. There will be no school for students on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving break.
