• Friday – September Social 4:00-5:30 ($5.00)

  • Saturday – Hot Sauce Festival in Oxford! Come see us! GCMS will be hosting the GCPS tent from 12-2!

Information:

• Friday September Social – We will have our September Social on Friday from 4:00-5:30. Students will stay after school. Admission is $5.00. Students will pay for their ticket during lunch. 

  • Reminder – Rides need to be at school by 5:30 for pickup! 

  • Follow the same carpool loop for dismissal

• Notes for Absences – Please remember to send in a doctor’s note or a sick note if your student is out sick. Make sure the note includes the student's full name and homeroom teacher on the letter. We also need the dates the student was absent.  

• Locks & Lockers – Locks will be distributed to teachers on Monday and handed out to students this week. Lockers will be in full implementation on 9/15.

  • NOTE: We are waiting on additional locks as we are still short quite a few. There will be a few homerooms who will not yet have lockers. We will communicate directly with those homerooms next week. 

• Grandparents Day – We will be celebrating Grandparents day on Thursday, September 11th at our Games with Grandparents event. Any grandparent that plans to attend needs to RSVP by Tuesday, September 9th. CLICK HERE to RSVP! 

• Progress Reports – Progress Reports will be sent home on THURSDAY, September 11th. We are halfway through Quarter 1. Please work with your student to ensure they are keeping up with assignments. You can also monitor grades through Infinite Campus using the Parent Portal. If you need your login information, please email our data manager Ms. Satterfield (satterfieldd@gcs.k12.nc.us)

• PTO Meeting – Our September Panther P.A.C.K meeting will be on Monday, September 8th at 5:30 P.M.. The meeting will be in person at GCMS.

• SWAG Store: LINKED HERE – Order your Granville Central Middle School Swag! The Panther Pack PTO will receive a percentage from the sales. The store will be open each month from the 1st of the month to the 15th of the month. The store will close and orders will take about 4 weeks to be completed from the time the store closes. Orders will be delivered to GCMS and given to the student when they arrive! 

• 7TH GRADE PARENTS: Documentation of your students Tdap and Meningitis vaccine is REQUIRED within the first 30 days of school. Students will be excluded from school after 9/11 if this is not turned in.

• FFA Fundraiser – Our FFA is kicking off a fundraiser for their club! They will be selling mums from 9/18-9/25! Checks should be made out to Granville Central Middle School with the memo being “Mum Sale”.
